Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and Snipit when you use the app. Snipit is a video editing tool that runs on your own device. Please read the section on your content and the section on subscriptions in particular.

1. Your licence to use Snipit
Snipit grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, in line with the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, redistribute, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the app's source code, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it.
2. Your content, your responsibility
The videos you import, edit, and export remain entirely yours. Snipit claims no ownership of them and never receives a copy — all processing happens on your device.
Because your footage never reaches us, we cannot recover it for you. Keep your own copies of anything you care about. Deleting the app removes the layouts, preferences, and cached files it stored on your device.
3. Footage you do not own
You are responsible for having the right to use, edit, and publish whatever you put through Snipit. Gameplay footage may be subject to a game publisher's terms, and footage that includes other people, music, or copyrighted material may be subject to further rights. Snipit is a tool; deciding what you may lawfully publish is your responsibility, not ours.
4. AI output is not guaranteed
Snipit's AI segment feature detects on-screen elements automatically. It is a convenience, and it will sometimes miss an element or select the wrong region. Always review the result before exporting. Snipit provides manual tools for exactly this reason, and we make no warranty that automatic detection will be accurate for any particular game, resolution, or recording.
5. Prohibited uses
- Using Snipit to create or distribute content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringes someone else's rights.
- Using Snipit to misrepresent footage in a way intended to deceive.
- Attempting to circumvent the in-app purchase system or unlock paid features without purchasing them.
- Interfering with, disrupting, or attempting to gain unauthorised access to any system involved in delivering the app.
6. No warranty
Snipit is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, video format, or game.
Video rendering is demanding work. Long clips, high resolutions, and older devices can produce slower exports or, in extreme cases, a failed render. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Snipit and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, footage, or profits, arising out of your use of or inability to use the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.
8. Privacy
Snipit never uploads your footage, and it collects data about you only for ad measurement and only if you allow tracking. The Privacy Policy explains this in full and forms part of these terms.
9. Third-party components
Snipit's on-device AI segment feature uses openly published machine learning model files, downloaded to your device on request and used only there. They are licensed under the Apache License 2.0 (www.apache.org/licenses) and used without modification for on-device inference only. The app also includes TikTok's Business SDK for ad measurement, which runs only if you allow tracking; see the Privacy Policy.
10. Snipit Pro, subscriptions and billing
Snipit is free to use, with no limit on clip length or output resolution. Snipit Pro is an optional paid upgrade that removes the watermark from exported clips, unlocks the highest-quality AI model, and lets you place your own logo on your clips instead of the watermark. Saving, exporting and importing layouts is free for everyone.
Snipit Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly; the yearly option includes a one-week free trial for new subscribers. The exact title, billing period, and price of each option — including price per unit where applicable — are shown on the purchase screen inside the app before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
The subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. You can view the renewal price and manage or cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device. No refunds are provided for unused portions of a current subscription period except where required by law.
Purchases are tied to your Apple Account and can be restored on your other devices using the Restore button on the Snipit Pro screen in the app.
11. Age and jurisdiction
Snipit is suitable for all ages. If you are a minor, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian, and any purchase should be made with their permission. These terms are governed by the laws applicable where the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without limiting any consumer protection rights you have where you live.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Snipit after an update means you accept the revised terms.
